About the Cover

Cover Figure

Cover Picture : The cover demonstrates the fMRI finding that the posterior superior temporal sulcus is activated in response to prideinstilling scenarios (e.g. winning a championship) relative to neutral scenarios. This supports the concept that pride could be regarded as a member of the self-conscious emotions family, requiring the ability to understand others' evaluations of self. See Takahashi et al. 2008. Brain activations during judgments of positive self-conscious emotion and positive basic emotion: pride and joy. Cereb Cortex 18(4): 898-903.
